The Public Health Officer will support the Head of Program in implementing MIF’s Mental, Maternal, and Sexual & Reproductive Health Program. This role focuses on promoting mental health, maternal and newborn care, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services for women and youth in Zanzibar. The Public Health Officer will assist with program execution, stakeholder coordination, capacity building, and ensuring that both mental health and SRH services are accessible and effective within target communities.
Reports to: Head of Programs
Key Responsibilities are, Program Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Capacity Building, Stakeholder and Community Engagement, Resource mobilization and Management, Administrative and Operational Support
Qualifications and Experience
-Master’s degree in public health, or health related field.
-At least 3 years of experience in program management, preferably in mental health, maternal health, and sexual and reproductive health.
-Knowledge of maternal and newborn care, reproductive health rights, and mental health services.
-Experience working with NGOs or community-based organizations in Zanzibar or similar settings.
-Strong understanding of the cultural context and healthcare challenges related to women and youth.
-Proficiency in Swahili and English, both spoken and written.
