Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Doctor who will be dedicated primarily to delivering virtual consultations to patients through the SimuConsult ICT Platform, a community-based digital helath service that connects patients to qualified doctors via community telehealth faciclitators(eg CHWs, conducting door-to-door visits and screenings in the communities). The role ensures timely, high-quality consultations appropriate prescriptions and effective patient referals.
A proportion of the Medical Doctor's time will also be dedicated to supporting the host hospital with routine medical duties as agreed with hospital management and dependant on telehealth volumes being generated at the community level.
The Medical Doctor will collaborate closely with Touch's Program Team, the designated Hospital's management and administration team as well as the CHWs involved. The Medical Doctor will report to the Project Manager at Touch.
The full-time role will be based in a hospital within the Lake zone area of Tanzania or in the Pwani Region. This will be confirmed in due course.
Responsibilities of the role may be adopted based upon the experience of the successful candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Education, Skills and Exprience

• Medical degree(MD/MBBS or equivalent) with full registration and license to practise in Tanzania
• Minimum 2-3years of clinical experience, preferably in general practice or community health
• Previous experience in telemedicine, digital health or community=based healthcare is an added advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with CHWs and diverse patient populations
• Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient confidentiality
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good judgement and discretion to represent Touch Health in a highly professional manner, as well as respect for local culture
